Job Description


Manage placement of product in any format used for public perception of the organization.  This includes, but not limited to, showrooms; advertising; buy-in programs; and catalog in-laid photos.  This is a highly visually influenced industry, the visual presentation rates as a major impact on the organization as a whole.   Showrooms must have first class look that creates excitement for customers that generates exceptional sales.

1.  Shop and acquires props to fulfill needs to present in a traditional yet trendy atmosphere.                

2.  Manage, oversee and participate in the actual placement of products for innovative merchandising.

3.  Prepares and has an on-going perception of how and what trends or fads are currently influencing the industry.

4.  Understands, accepts, and fosters the talents, personalities, and concerns of personnel from all departments as it pertains to presentation.

5.  Selects items or collections for display or photography. Showroom space planning, fixture design and placement.

6.  Working and negotiating with contractors and trade show management. 


7.   Work with Buying Team for new product ideas and problem items. 

8.  Performs all other duties as deemed necessary by management.



• To listen to and formulate information from all other departments and the buying public in regards to each unique request or goal as it pertains to presentation.

• An innate eye for form and architecture as it concerns displaying a collection, or setting a room.

• Understanding of color, light and form to make best visual presentation of products.

• Trend and pre-showroom set up presentation to management.  Must be able to tell “trend story” with vignettes.

• A passion for and a working understanding of color and its importance in presentation.  The ability to foster and promote the ideas and skills of others.

• The ability to make decisions and stand behind them quickly and with confidence. 

• An understanding of the mental and physical requirements of excessive travel.

• Understanding of budget and cost reporting to management.

• Understanding and acceptance that finish projects supersedes a nine to five work day. 

• Must have good interpersonal skills and supervision experience. 

• Must be able to plan sample delivery and unpack, and place product.

• Must be able to work well with other employees and departments.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations.

• Extreme attention to detail. 

• Must be a Self Starter, highly motivated, enthusiastic and professional at all times.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.  Time Management is a MUST!!

• Must be able to plan and travel as required.  Should be able to travel 30 days or more at a time, 4 times a year.

 Sets up showrooms in Tulsa/Dallas/Las Vegas/Atlanta and Chicago.  May travel to China as well.  Must be willing to travel 85%.  May be out 30 days in a row, works weekends, and until the job has been completed.  This is not an 8-5 job!  (Comp days for every weekend worked).  Has to be a self starter, supervises/manages team of 4.    
Qualifications • Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Degree in any of the many fields associated with design.
• Four years experience in setting up showroom spaces and temporary show venues within the decorative accessory industry.
• A working knowledge of the industry’s main permanent Marts. .
Compensation 50K-60K DOE
